4 Types Of Decorative Glass Available…
1 – Etched Glass to London
Of the many types of glass decorative glass we supply, Etched Glass is one of the most popular requests we receive from the London area. The image above shows what etched glass looks like and basically, it is an obscure background with a clear design. All designs are obviously available in the opposite style – clear background and etched design. We have hundreds of designs in our Etched Glass Gallery and popular styles are Traditional or our Shadows Of Nature.
Other popular etched glass galleries are our Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the House Names and Numbers gallery. We can also create bespoke etched glass panels based on your own photos or drawings. All glass is available single or double glazed. As with all decorative glass orders, a scale proof is created for client approval before the glass is started.
Some recent Etched Glass commissions from the London area….
Victorian Etched Glass For Doors – Mayfair
In 2023 we created 8 etched glass panels for the internal doors of an executive home in Mayfair, London. The design was selected from our Edinburgh Range for one door, with a basic new version created for the other three doors. On the set of 3 matching doors we used the centre from the main design to create a basic pattern. The glass was supplied as 4mm toughened safety glass and you can see our drawings in the title link above.
Brilliant Cut Copy Arched Door
In 2022 we are approached by a London client who asked if we could supply Brilliant Cut Glass. We informed the client we do not supply that type of glass but we can create a flat version of any brilliant cut design. We sent the client to this page to help explain how our glass would look. The client was happy with that finish and ordered the glass. As you can see in the main link above, the door panels were all shaped pieces. These types of doors are popular around the London area. The client forwarded full scale templates through the post and we created the toughened glass from these templates.
Reproduction Of Etched Door Glass
A few years ago we received an enquiry from a customer in London. The client sent us photos of some original etched glass that they wanted us to re-create. We didn’t have this design on file so we had to draw this pattern from scratch. The glass was for a front door with 2 small squares above to larger rectangles. The main link above takes you to their Client Page where we uploaded their proof for approval.
Etched Glass House Number – Stamford Hill
In 2020 a client forwarded us a drawing of a Circus style house number design. they asked if we could sandblast this pattern onto a piece of toughened safety glass. We told them we could and the order was placed. As you can see by the drawing above, the font was quite detailed and the text required was very large. The grey sections on the drawing were sandblasted (etched) glass and the white areas were left clear.
Edinburgh Range Transom Window – Finsbury Park
Just a few weeks after launching our Edinburgh Range of Victorian Etched Glass designs, a London client placed an order for a panel. The glass was to be installed by the clients builder and it was to be fitted above a door in their home. This glass shape was quite square and our original drawings were mainly rectangle. We re-designed the chosen pattern to fit the clients glass shape and uploaded a proof to this website for approval. The main title link above will show you the finished glass once installed.
Etched Glass Tree Theme For Wardrobe Doors
Back in 2017 a London joinery company asked if we could supply our popular Autumn Tree design across multiple wardrobe glass panels. The client forwarded their glass size drawings and we gave them a quote. Once the order was placed, we created realistic drawings to show the client how the glass would look. The main link above takes you to their Client Page. The glass was going to be close to hanging clothes inside of the wardrobes so they didn’t want any clear sections at all. We decided to create the glass designs using Satin Glass, which is already obscured. The effect was stunning and we have created more wardrobe glass using this same pattern for clients around the country.
2 – Overlay Stained Glass to London
The above image shows a great example of an Overlay Stained Glass panel. This type of glass is also one of the most popular requests we receive from the London area. As with all of our glass, single glazed and double glazed options are available. Toughened safety glass is supplied as standard for all orders. Popular styles requested are chosen from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery and the Frank Lloyd Wright gallery.
There are many other patterns to choose from such as Countryside Landscapes and traditonal designs from our extensive Door Galleries. The Main Gallery is the place to start and if you cannot find a suitable design, send us your own design. We create bespoke glass panels every day so we can also make glass inspired by your current glass or from a photo/drawing you have.
3 – Fused Glass to London
The photo above shows one of our Fused Glass leaves that is used in our popular fused glass patterns. Our fused glass panels are created by etching the background with the addition of stunning fused glass tiles. We create these hand-made fused glass tiles in our UK studio and many colours can be requested.
Popular fused glass galleries include our Mackintosh Gallery and our Tree Of Life Gallery. Our fused glass tiles are all hand cut and then they are placed in our kiln. 18 hours later they are fused and ready to be used to make our stunning glass panels. Fused Glass tiles are some of the most beautiful glass features we make. As standard, all glass is toughened and can be supplied single or double glazed.
4 – Bevelled Glass to London
The image above is a Bevelled Glass window we created for clients in Chelsea. This design is part of our popular American Bevelled Glass range and the photo is stunning example of the beauty of bevels. There are thousands of bevels to choose from and we can create toughened glass panels with stunning bevelled patterns. Again, single or double glazed is available and as standard we produce a drawing for approval before manufacture.
What we do
Our decorative glass studio specialises in creating bespoke decorative glass panels for homes and businesses in London. We also supply our glass anywhere in the UK and we sometimes receive orders from around the world. Most of the orders we receive are from homeowners looking to replace their old or damaged glass. If you have plain or boring glass in your front door we can supply stunning new decorative glass to give your door a whole new lease of life.
We supply toughened safety glass as standard for all our products. You can choose single or double-glazed options or even triple glazed glass if it is required. We can provide laminated or Fire rated glass but these types of glass carry extra charges on top of a standard quotation.
Our service
When customers place an order with us, they get to preview their glass design before we make the actual glass. Our glass artists create high quality proofs to show you, the client exactly how your glass will look before manufacture. Once you get to see the drawings, you would have the opportunity to request alterations to the layout and colours. We only create the actual glass once the client has told us the design is absolutely perfect.
After creating the glass, we deliver it directly to your London home or your chosen window or door supplier.
