Crawley Decorative Glass
Founded in 1994, Leadbitter Glass has been manufacturing and delivering decorative glass throughout Crawley for over 30 years. St John the Baptist’s Church, the oldest building in Crawley town centre dating back to the 1250s, holds stained glass by J. Hardman and Co, added in 1863, alongside further windows by Done and Davies of Shrewsbury. Designated one of Britain’s original post-war New Towns in 1947, Crawley blends this older medieval core with much more modern housing across its estates.
This mix has made bevelled and fused glass especially popular contemporary choices for many Crawley homes, alongside the more traditional stained and etched glass found around the town’s older pockets. We specialise in creating and supplying Etched Glass, Bevelled Glass, Fused Glass, and Overlay Stained Glass panels. While we focus on providing bespoke glass to residential customers, our work has also been featured in blockbuster movies and supplied to some of the world’s largest corporations.

1 – Etched Glass to Crawley

3 – Fused Glass to Crawley
Below is one of our Fused Glass leaves, a familiar element within our fused glass patterns. Fused Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade across many Crawley homes over the years, rather than a period feature in its own right. Each panel begins with an etched background, onto which individually hand-cut fused glass tiles are fixed, standing roughly 6mm proud of the surface. Every tile is made in our own UK studio, in whichever colours you prefer.
Our Mackintosh Gallery and Tree Of Life Gallery are two of our most popular fused glass collections. Each tile is hand-cut and fired in our kiln over roughly 18 hours, forming a genuinely one-off feature. Every fused panel is toughened, and available as single or double glazing.
4 – Bevelled Glass to Crawley
The window below is part of our American Bevelled Glass range, and a genuinely striking demonstration of the beauty of bevels. As with fused glass, bevelled glass has grown into a favoured contemporary upgrade across Crawley rather than an original period feature. We hold thousands of bevel patterns in our library, and can build toughened panels to virtually any design. Every order is single or double glazed as required, with a drawing supplied for your approval ahead of manufacture.
What We Do
Our decorative glass studio crafts bespoke glass panels for homes and businesses across Crawley, and delivers throughout the rest of the UK too, with occasional orders reaching us from overseas. Every order includes a preview of your design ahead of production. Our glass artists put together a high-quality proof so you can see exactly how the finished piece will look, and adjust the layout or colourway as many times as you need. We won’t begin manufacturing until you’re entirely happy.
Once complete, we deliver the finished glass straight to your Crawley address, or to your chosen window or door installer.
