Brighton Stained Glass

Stained Glass supplier to the Brighton area

We have been supplying Leaded Glass or Overlay Stained Glass as it is also known, to Brighton homes since 1994. In the olden days stained glass was manufactured using small fragile pieces of thin glass fixed together with a lead strip and soldered to keep the design from falling apart. This old technique creates a jigsaw-like product that is neither rigid nor strong. Although this procedure is sometimes still used today, the modern technique of overlay stained glass is a more popular and versatile product. Overlay Stained Glass can be found all over the country and it is especially popular in the Brighton area.

Toughened safety glass is used when we create overlay stained glass so the finished panel is a lot more durable than the traditional method. When using natural lead strip, we can solder the joints of the lead to help make it unrecognisable from the traditional style of leaded lights. The image above was created using a textured glass called Stippolyte and this is a great base glass for helping with privacy issues.

For some of the larger projects in the Brighton area we can actually come out and visit you to discuss your aims and ideas for your decorative glass project. We can also design glass, manufacture the glass and deliver the glass to the Brighton area by using our Client Pages service to help keep the costs down. Etched Glass is also available from our studio and we have supplied many homes with it throughout the Brighton and Hove area.

Our Client Pages section is also a great way to see what types of orders we receive from our customers and it may even give you some ideas for your own Leaded Glass project.

Leaded Glass Sunrise For 1930s Door

A Brighton customer spotted our Good Morning design and fell in love with it. They had a 1930s door that needed renovating and they loved this stunning Overlay Stained Glass design. Problem was their glass was nowhere near the size of the glass shown in our gallery image. We told the client we could make a smaller version that just featured the sun and hills etc. The client placed the order and the link above shows you the drawing we created for approval.

Large Stained Glass Roses Window

A client from Brighton emailed over a hand drawing of a window they had designed and asked us to price up the glass. This was a large landing window and was to be supplied using toughened safety glass. All of our orders are created using toughened glass as standard. The client selected all their own colours from our colour swatch and we created a drawing for approval. The main link above shows the proof we supplied to the client.

Rennie Mackintosh Door & Matching Transom

A Brighton home-owner spotted our Blythswood Rose design recently and asked if we could create a door with a matching toplight. We gave the client a quote and they placed their order. A few days later we sent them a scale proof showing how their glass would look. They were really happy with the layout and gave the go-ahead for the glass to be created. The main link above takes you to their Client Page.
