Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Fused Glass panels to homes and businesses across Taunton ever since, delivering to every other part of the UK too. Where Taunton’s period homes were traditionally fitted with etched or stained glass, Fused Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade in recent years, bringing a genuinely modern finish to doors and windows across the town.

Every Fused Glass design begins with an etched glass background, onto which small handmade fused tiles are kiln fired and incorporated into the panel, giving each piece a genuine sense of depth and texture on top of its colour. Panels are supplied as single or double-glazed glass, built to your own sizes for any door or window. The great majority of orders qualify for free delivery across Taunton.

How Our Fused Glass Is Made

Every panel starts as a sheet of toughened safety glass, sandblasted first to lay down the etched background — the same process behind our Etched range. From there, individually shaped pieces of coloured glass are cut and UV bonded straight onto that surface, one piece after another, until the pattern has built up properly rather than sitting flat as a print would.

Each tile stands roughly 6mm proud of the surface, giving the panel real texture exactly where it’s needed, while the rest stays flat and built on the same toughened glass we use across the board. Nothing about it needs re-leading or re-glazing later on, and a double-glazed version is available for extra insulation.
