Cheltenham Decorative Glass

Leadbitter Glass manufactures and delivers four different forms of decorative glass around the Cheltenham area. We manufacture and deliver Etched Glass, Bevelled Glass, Overlay Stained Glass and Fused Glass panels. We specialise in manufacturing and delivering bespoke glass to residential customers but we have also supplied glass for use in blockbuster movies and some of the worlds largest corporations.

Of the many types of decorative glass we supply, Etched Glass is probably the most popular request we receive from our clients. The image above shows what an etched glass looks like. Basically, it is an obscure background with a clear design. All designs are obviously available in the opposite style – clear background and etched design but most choose this version. Other popular requests for etched glass come from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the House Names and Numbers galleries. We can also create bespoke etched glass panels based on your own ideas or drawings. All glass is toughened safety glass and comes in single or double glazed glass.

Etched Glass Swans Window

Way back in 2014 we created this landscape shaped window featuring etched glass swans and butterflies. Privacy wasn’t an issue for this client so they requested the background to be clear, with the design etched. The link above will show you the proof of the window before we etched the glass.

Decorative Etched Glass Borders

In 2015 we had a request for 3 panels of different shapes, but all with the same border. This was quite a simple order to create but as we always do, we created drawings for the client before making the actual glass. The link above will show you how the borders looked on the differing size panels.

Etched Glass House Name & More

In 2011 we created multiple etched glass panels for clients in Cheltenham. A House Name panel was supplied along with 3 other decorative designs. The link above will take you to the Client Page for this job. This is where the client gets to view their glass designs before the glass is actually made. If you take a look at the last image, you will notice it is skewed. This specific panel had to be created in that shape because the frame of the old house had distorted over time.

2. Overlay Stained Glass to Cheltenham

The above photo shows a great example of a 1930s style Overlay Stained Glass panel. This type of glass is the second most popular requests we receive from Cheltenham area clients. As with all of our glass, single glazed and double glazed options are available. Toughened safety glass is supplied as standard for all orders. Popular styles requested are chosen from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery and the Frank Lloyd Wright gallery.

Large Mackintosh Feature Window

In 2020 we created a very large feature window for a Cheltenham client. The design was selected from our Renfrew Range and the client wanted a green theme. Large Renfrew Feature Window – Chipping Campden

Coincidentally, a few years before the job above was supplied to Cheltenham area clients, we created the same design for someone else. The design was our Renfrew design but the client went with the standard colour theme. The colours for this specific job are the most popular request we receive for the Renfrew design. Again this order was for quite a large window and it was to be a glass partition from one room to another. The main link above takes you to the proof created for approval.

3. Fused Glass to Cheltenham

The photo above shows one of our Fused Glass leaves as used in one of our popular fused glass designs. Our fused glass panels are created by etching the background of the glass with the addition of stunning fused glass tiles. We create these bespoke fused glass tiles in our UK studio and many colours can be requested.

Popular fused glass galleries include our Rennie Mackintosh Gallery and our Tree Of Life Gallery. Fused glass tiles are all hand cut and then they are placed in our specialist glass kiln. 18 hours later they are fused and ready to be used in our stunning glass panels. Fused Glass tiles are some of the most beautiful glass features we make. As standard, all glass is toughened and can be supplied single or double glazed.

4. Bevelled Glass to Cheltenham

The photograph above shows a stunning Bevelled Glass window we created for clients in London. This design is from our American Bevelled Glass range. The photo really shows how something so simple can become so beautiful when using your imagination. There are thousands of individual bevels to choose from so the design possibilities are endless. As with all orders placed with our studio, single or double glazed is available and as standard.

Included with all our products is standard toughened safety glass. Your choices extend to single or double-glazed options, and for those seeking heightened insulation, we offer the possibility of triple-glazed glass. It’s worth mentioning, though, that selecting laminated or fire-rated glass comes with supplementary charges, beyond what is covered in the standard quotation.

Our service

When clients place their orders, they gain the exclusive opportunity to preview their chosen glass design before the glass is made. Our skilled team of glass artists dedicates itself to crafting high-quality proofs. We provide clients with a precise visual representation of the intended glass pattern before the glass is started. Following the review of the drawings, clients can propose modifications to the layout and colour scheme. We proceed with the production of the actual glass only after the client confirms that the design aligns perfectly with their vision. Subsequent to the glass creation, we promptly dispatch it to the client’s residence in Cheltenham or directly to their preferred window or door supplier.
