Hereford Decorative Glass

Leadbitter Glass manufactures and delivers many different forms of decorative glass around the Hereford area. We manufacture and deliver Etched Glass, Bevelled Glass, Overlay Stained Glass and Fused Glass panels. We specialise in manufacturing and delivering bespoke glass to residential customers but we have also supplied glass for use in blockbuster movies and some of the worlds largest corporations.

Our studio produces four distinct types of decorative glass which are available for delivery to homes in Hereford.

1. Etched Glass to Hereford

Of the many types of glass decorative glass we supply, Etched Glass is one of the most popular requests we receive from the Hereford area. The image above shows what etched glass looks like and basically, it is an obscure background with a clear design. All designs are obviously available in the opposite style – clear background and etched design. We have hundreds of designs in our Etched Glass Gallery and popular styles are Traditional or our Shadows Of Nature.

Other popular etched glass galleries are our Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the House Names and Numbers gallery. We can also create bespoke etched glass panels based on your own photos or drawings. All glass is available single or double glazed. As with all decorative glass orders, a scale proof is created for client approval before the glass is started.

Initials on Victorian Etched Glass Doors

In 2024 we were contacted by clients in Hay-on-Wye for the price of our 1479 design. They obviously wanted their own personalised initials to feature in this design. As we always do, we created a CGI proof for the customer to approve. The main title link above will take you to the client page to view the drawing.

2. Overlay Stained Glass to Hereford

The above image shows a great example of an Overlay Stained Glass panel. This type of glass is also one of the most popular requests we receive from the Hereford area. As with all of our glass, single glazed and double glazed options are available. Toughened safety glass is supplied as standard for all orders. Popular styles requested are chosen from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery and the Frank Lloyd Wright gallery.

There are many other patterns to choose from such as Countryside Landscapes and traditional designs from our extensive Door Galleries. The Main Gallery is the place to start and if you cannot find a suitable design, send us your own design. We create bespoke glass panels every day so we can also make glass inspired by your current glass or from a photo/drawing you have.

Small Mackintosh Rose – Ledbury

In 2015, we created a small custom version of our Clyde Rose design for a client in Ledbury. This stable door glass panel measured just 200mm x 300mm, making it one of our more compact designs. For the base glass, we used Stippolyte glass to provide privacy while maintaining elegance. The client requested a blue rose, which we incorporated into the design. The link above features the proof drawing we supplied for approval before production.

Scuba Diving Bear – Ross-On-Wye

In 2010, we were commissioned to create a custom glass panel featuring a scuba-diving bear. The client provided a highly detailed drawing, which we carefully adapted to suit the small glass size while preserving the essence of the design. The panel was crafted using toughened glass and our Overlay Stained Glass materials for a durable and visually striking finish. The link above features a photo of the completed panel before it was delivered to the client.

Leaded Glass House Name – Hereford

In 2012, we created a custom toplight panel to complement our existing 354 door glass design. The client already had a pair of 354 panels for their door and wanted their house name incorporated in the same style. The link above features a photo of the completed house name panel, which was designed in a traditional style, with the text seamlessly integrated into square leaded sections for a cohesive and elegant look.

3 Panel Door Floral Design – Leominster

In 2019, we were commissioned to create a set of three matching door glass panels based on one of our existing designs. Typically supplied as a pair of panels, this design was adapted to fit a door with three glazed sections. We provided a detailed drawing for approval, which can be viewed in the link above. To enhance privacy while maintaining style, we used Stippolyte textured glass as the base material.

3. Fused Glass to Hereford

The photo above shows one of our Fused Glass leaves that is used in our popular fused glass patterns. Our fused glass panels are created by etching the background with the addition of stunning fused glass tiles. We create these hand-made fused glass tiles in our UK studio and many colours can be requested.

Popular fused glass galleries include our Mackintosh Gallery and our Tree Of Life Gallery. Our fused glass tiles are all hand cut and then they are placed in our kiln. 18 hours later they are fused and ready to be used to make our stunning glass panels. Fused Glass tiles are some of the most beautiful glass features we make. As standard, all glass is toughened and can be supplied single or double glazed.

Fused Glass Diamonds Vestibule – Ross-On-Wye

In 2012, a client from Ross-on-Wye requested a combination of leaded glass and fused glass diamonds for their vestibule entrance. They selected a specific fused glass diamond and asked for it to be set within rectangular leaded panels. We crafted all panels using toughened safety glass, ensuring durability and security. The design drawing created for approval can be viewed in the link above.

4 Panel Door Fused Glass Leaves – Herefordshire

In 2020, we received an order for our Cecily Leaves design for a four-panel door. The client chose the blue leaves variation, as shown below. This design is typically created for Malton Doors with two slim panels, but this customer’s door featured four glazed sections. To suit the layout, we incorporated one leaf in each small panel and two leaves in the larger sections. The link above showcases the installed glass panels in the finished door.

4. Bevelled Glass to Hereford

The image above is a Bevelled Glass window we created for clients in Chelsea. This design is part of our popular American Bevelled Glass range and the photo is stunning example of the beauty of bevels. There are thousands of bevels to choose from and we can create toughened glass panels with stunning bevelled patterns. Again, single or double glazed is available and as standard we produce a drawing for approval before manufacture.

What we do

Our decorative glass studio specialises in creating bespoke decorative glass panels for homes and businesses in Hereford. We also supply our glass anywhere in the UK and we sometimes receive orders from around the world. Most of the orders we receive are from homeowners looking to replace their old or damaged glass. If you have plain or boring glass in your front door we can supply stunning new decorative glass to give your door a whole new lease of life.

We supply toughened safety glass as standard for all our products. You can choose single or double-glazed options or even triple glazed glass if it is required. We can provide laminated or Fire rated glass but these types of glass carry extra charges on top of a standard quotation.

Our service

When customers place an order with us, they get to preview their glass design before we make the actual glass. Our glass artists create high quality proofs to show you, the client exactly how your glass will look before manufacture. Once you get to see the drawings, you would have the opportunity to request alterations to the layout and colours. We only create the actual glass once the client has told us the design is absolutely perfect. After creating the glass, we deliver it directly to your Hereford home or your chosen window or door supplier.

We also supply Decorative glass to the surrounding areas of Hereford including:
