Bevelled Glass Didcot

Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Bevelled Glass panels to homes and businesses across Didcot ever since, delivering to every other part of the UK too. Didcot’s period housing was originally fitted with etched or stained glass, but Bevelled Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade across the town, giving doors and windows a sharper, more reflective finish than the traditional styles it’s replacing.

Each panel is built from small individual pieces of glass, arranged into a pattern and supplied as single or double glazing. With hundreds of stock designs to pick from — diamonds, squares, rectangles, teardrops and more — the combinations run close to endless. Most Didcot orders qualify for free delivery.

We’ve made glass for a Prime Minister’s home, Hollywood film sets, and the residences of well-known musicians and billionaires — though homeowners across Didcot remain the bulk of who we make it for. We also produce other styles of Decorative Glass for Didcot clients, including Stained Glass, Etched Glass, and Fused Glass.

Our Free Client Pages Design Service

A bevel pattern only works if the measurements behind it are exact, so every Didcot order comes with a free Client Page. A drawing built to your exact glass dimensions lands there within a few days. Want a cluster spaced further apart, or the whole layout opened up? Tell us and we’ll rework it — as many times as it takes for the pattern to give your door a genuine focal point.

American Bevelled Glass

American Bevelled Glass is among our most requested styles — hundreds of small rectangular and square bevels set edge to edge across the whole panel. It’s a style with deep roots in American glasswork, and one you’ll likely recognise from film and television. Our rectangular pencil bevels come in a wide range of widths and lengths, giving our glass artists real scope to design something distinctive for your Didcot home.

Each bevel is hand-fitted and UV bonded onto a single sheet of toughened safety glass. The old-fashioned method relied on lead alone to hold every piece in place, with no supporting glass base underneath — a construction closer to a jigsaw puzzle than a proper anchor for the eye.

How Our Bevelled Glass Is Made

Our modern technique fixes exactly what the old lead-only approach got wrong. A single sheet of toughened glass closes off the gaps a lead-only “jigsaw” panel would otherwise leave for cold air, and it’s available as a double-glazed unit too, for extra insulation. Certain bevel shapes and clusters come in bronze, blue, or green glass, with a Gluechip texture available on select pieces for added character.
