Stained Glass Blackpool

Stained Glass supplier to the Blackpool area

We have been supplying Leaded Glass or Overlay Stained Glass as it is also known, to Blackpool homes since 1994. In the olden days stained glass was manufactured using small fragile sections of glass fixed together with a flat lead strip and soldered to keep the design from falling apart. This old technique creates a jigsaw-like result that is neither rigid nor durable. Although this procedure is sometimes still used today, the modern technique of overlay stained glass is a more popular and versatile product. Overlay Stained Glass can be found all over the UK and it is especially popular in the Blackpool area.

Toughened safety glass is always used when we create overlay stained glass so the finished panel is a lot more durable than the traditional ‘jigsaw’ method. When using natural lead strip, we can solder the joints of the lead and then rub an acid into the lead to make it unrecognisable from the traditional style of individual leaded lights. The image above was created using a textured glass called Stippolyte and this is a great base glass for helping with privacy issues.

For larger projects in the Blackpool area we can actually come out and visit your home to discuss your decorative glass project with you. We can also design glass, manufacture the glass and deliver the glass to the Blackpool area by using our Client Pages service to help keep the costs down.

Our Client Pages section is also a great way to see what types of orders we are receiving from other customers and it may even give you some clever ideas for your own Leaded Glass project.
