Leadbitter Glass manufactures and delivers many different forms of decorative glass around the Blackburn area. We manufacture and deliver Etched Glass, Bevelled Glass, Overlay Stained Glass and Fused Glass panels. We specialise in manufacturing and delivering bespoke glass to residential customers but we have also supplied glass for use in blockbuster movies and some of the worlds largest corporations.

Our studio produces four distinct types of decorative glass which are available for delivery to homes in Blackburn.

1. Etched Glass to Blackburn

Of the many types of glass decorative glass we supply, Etched Glass is one of the most popular requests we receive from the Blackburn area. The image above shows what etched glass looks like and basically, it is an obscure background with a clear design. All designs are obviously available in the opposite style – clear background and etched design. We have hundreds of designs in our Etched Glass Gallery and popular styles are Traditional or our Shadows Of Nature.

Other popular etched glass galleries are our Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the House Names and Numbers gallery. We can also create bespoke etched glass panels based on your own photos or drawings. All glass is available single or double glazed. As with all decorative glass orders, a scale proof is created for client approval before the glass is started.

Etched Glass Butterflies & Reeds Window

A Blackburn customer approached us recently with a request for an internal room divider panel. They wanted the glass to be mainly clear but wanted a nature themed design etched into it. They chose one of our popular room divider patterns and this design features butterflies, reeds and some flowers. Etched Glass Border Door & Transom

We created a matching set of door glass panels and transom window for a Blackburn customer recently. The client wanted the border on the doors to be spread across two panels due to the narrow width of the door glass. You can see the final result here – Etched Glass Borders Blackburn

Butterflies & Reeds LED lit window

This page shows the result of adding LED strip lights to an etched glass window. The client kindly sent us photos of their new etched glass once it was installed. Commemorative Plaque For The Queen – Blackburn

In 2014 we were approached by Blackburn council to create an etched glass panel that commemorated a building opening by The Queen. The opening had taken place years earlier but an etched glass plaque had never been ordered. You can see a photo of the glass here – Queen Plaque Blackburn

2. Overlay Stained Glass to Blackburn

The above image shows a great example of an Overlay Stained Glass panel. This type of glass is also one of the most popular requests we receive from the Blackburn area. As with all of our glass, single glazed and double glazed options are available. Toughened safety glass is supplied as standard for all orders. Popular styles requested are chosen from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery and the Frank Lloyd Wright gallery.

There are many other patterns to choose from such as Countryside Landscapes and traditional designs from our extensive Door Galleries. The Main Gallery is the place to start and if you cannot find a suitable design, send us your own design. We create bespoke glass panels every day so we can also make glass inspired by your current glass or from a photo/drawing you have.

Large Fused & Stained Glass Window – Accrington near Blackburn

A customer in Accrington ordered one of the largest double glazed units we have ever made. The panel really did have everything in it!! We created large Stained Glass circles with the addition of multiple fused glass tiles. 3. Fused Glass to Blackburn

The photo above shows one of our Fused Glass leaves that is used in our popular fused glass patterns. Our fused glass panels are created by etching the background with the addition of stunning fused glass tiles. We create these hand-made fused glass tiles in our UK studio and many colours can be requested.

Popular fused glass galleries include our Mackintosh Gallery and our Tree Of Life Gallery. Our fused glass tiles are all hand cut and then they are placed in our kiln. 18 hours later they are fused and ready to be used to make our stunning glass panels. Fused Glass tiles are some of the most beautiful glass features we make. As standard, all glass is toughened and can be supplied single or double glazed.

4. Bevelled Glass to Blackburn

The image above is a Bevelled Glass window we created for clients in Chelsea. This design is part of our popular American Bevelled Glass range and the photo is stunning example of the beauty of bevels. There are thousands of bevels to choose from and we can create toughened glass panels with stunning bevelled patterns. Again, single or double glazed is available and as standard we produce a drawing for approval before manufacture.

Our decorative glass studio specialises in creating bespoke decorative glass panels for homes and businesses in Blackburn. We also supply our glass anywhere in the UK and we sometimes receive orders from around the world. Most of the orders we receive are from homeowners looking to replace their old or damaged glass. If you have plain or boring glass in your front door we can supply stunning new decorative glass to give your door a whole new lease of life.

Our standard offering encompasses the provision of robust safety glass for all our products. Tailoring to your preferences, you have the flexibility to opt for single or double-glazed alternatives, and if the need arises, even triple-glazed glass is at your disposal. However, it’s important to note that opting for laminated or fire-rated glass incurs additional charges beyond the standard quotation.

Our service

Upon placing an order with us, customers enjoy the benefit of previewing their selected glass design before the actual production of the glass. Our team of skilled glass artists meticulously creates high-quality proofs, offering clients an accurate visual representation of the expected glass design. Once presented with the drawings, clients have the opportunity to suggest alterations to the layout and colour palette. We proceed with creating the physical glass only after receiving confirmation from the client that the design is perfect. After the completion of the glass, we promptly dispatch it to the client’s Blackburn residence or directly to their chosen window or door supplier.
