Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Bevelled Glass panels to homes and businesses across Wolverhampton ever since. We also deliver to every other part of the UK. While Wolverhampton’s period properties — many built for the workers of the city’s ironworking and lock-making trades — were originally fitted with etched or stained glass, Bevelled Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade over the years for homeowners across the city looking to bring a sharper, more reflective style of decorative glass to their doors and windows.

American Bevelled Glass
Among our most requested styles is American Bevelled Glass, built from hundreds of small rectangular and square bevels arranged edge to edge across the entire panel. The style takes its name from its long history in American glasswork, and you’ve likely seen it featured in film and television. These rectangular pencil bevels come in a wide range of widths and lengths, giving our glass artists plenty of creative freedom when designing your Wolverhampton panel.
Every bevel is fitted by hand and UV bonded onto a single sheet of toughened safety glass. Traditionally, lead alone held each small piece together with no supporting glass beneath — a method closer to piecing together a jigsaw than assembling a solid panel.
Our modern technique solves the problems that method created. A single sheet of toughened glass removes the gaps a lead-only “jigsaw” panel would leave for draughts, and we can supply it as a double-glazed unit for extra insulation too. Some bevel shapes and clusters come in bronze, blue, or green glass, with a Gluechip texture available on select pieces for added character.
