Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Fused Glass panels to homes and businesses across Leighton Buzzard ever since, delivering to every other part of the UK too. Where Leighton Buzzard’s older buildings were traditionally fitted with etched or stained glass, Fused Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade for many houses across the town, a newer feature for a place that’s always valued something that keeps earning its place.

Every Fused Glass design begins with an etched glass background, onto which small handmade fused tiles are kiln fired and incorporated into the panel, giving each piece genuine texture as well as colour. Panels are supplied as single or double-glazed glass, built to your own sizes for any door or window. The great majority of orders qualify for free delivery across Leighton Buzzard.

We’ve supplied glass for a Prime Minister’s home, for Hollywood film sets, and for well-known musicians and billionaires — though the vast majority of what we make is still for homeowners across Leighton Buzzard. We also produce other styles of Decorative Glass for Leighton Buzzard clients, including Stained Glass, Bevelled Glass, and Etched Glass.

Fused Glass carries more decisions than most of our ranges — the background pattern, the tile shapes, the colourway — so every Leighton Buzzard order gets its own Client Page before a single tile is fired. A computer-drawn proof, built to your exact glass, appears there within a few days of ordering. If a colour needs adjusting, or a tile resizing, tell us and we’ll amend it — as many rounds as it takes.

We build every Fused Glass panel on the same foundation as our etched work — a sheet of toughened safety glass, sandblasted first to lay down the background pattern. From there, individually shaped pieces of coloured glass are cut and UV bonded directly onto that surface, one piece at a time, so the finished design has genuine depth rather than sitting flat like a print.

The fused pieces stand roughly 6mm proud of the surface, giving genuine texture where the pattern needs it, while the rest of the panel stays flat and built on the same toughened glass base as everything else we make. There’s no re-leading or re-glazing to think about later, and a double-glazed version is available if you want extra insulation.
