Gloucester Decorative Glass

Decorative Glass in Gloucester

Leadbitter Glass manufactures and delivers a wide range of decorative glass throughout the Gloucester area. We specialize in creating and supplying Etched Glass, Bevelled Glass, Fused Glass, and Overlay Stained Glass panels. While we focus on providing bespoke glass to residential customers, our work has also been featured in blockbuster movies and supplied to some of the world’s largest corporations.

4 Types Of Decorative Glass Available…

1 – Etched Glass to Gloucester

Of the many types of decorative glass we supply, Etched Glass is one of the most requested in the Gloucester area. The image above demonstrates what etched glass looks like—it features an obscure background with a clear design. We also offer the reverse style, with a clear background and an etched design. Our Etched Glass Gallery showcases hundreds of designs, including popular styles like Traditional and Shadows of Nature.

Other well-loved etched glass galleries include our Charles Rennie Mackintosh and House Names and Numbers collections. We can also create bespoke etched glass panels based on your own photos or designs. All glass is available as either single or double glazed. As with all decorative glass orders, we create a scale proof for client approval before starting production.

Etched Glass Heron & Reeds – Stroud

In 2021, a customer placed an order for two different designs from our website. Our etched glass Heron design, which had been supplied to many customers over the years, was created for the client’s door. Additionally, we created two wheat and grass etched glass panels for fanlights above a door in the client’s home. The main link above will show the drawings created for client approval.

Etched Glass Tree Branches Door – Gloucester

In 2020, a client approached us to inquire if we could create a set of 3 door glass panels with one design spread across the entire set. The client loved our Spring Tree design from our Shadows of Nature Range. They wanted the branches to spread across the whole glazed area, creating the effect of tree branches outside. The main link above shows the drawing we created for their approval before making the actual glass.

Hatherop Castle School Logo – Cirencester

In 2012, Hatherop Castle School in Gloucestershire approached us to create an etched glass window featuring their school logo. The logo was a detailed sketch of the school building itself. As shown in the photo above, the final result was a stunning etched glass window that serves as a welcoming feature for visitors entering the school. The glass was crafted using toughened safety glass for added durability.

Brilliant Cut Glass Copy – Gloucester

In 2018, a client approached us to inquire if we could create a toughened glass brilliant cut panel using the same pattern from their broken door glass. While we do not offer brilliant cut glass, we informed the client that we could supply a toughened glass panel with a flat version of the same design. The client prioritised a toughened panel over replicating the brilliant cut aspect, as the original glass had broken too easily. The main title link above leads to the client’s personal page on our website, where we uploaded our version of their design for approval.

Laundry Door – Stroud

In 2018, a client sent us a unique design for their Laundry Door glass, featuring clothes on a washing line. The proof we created can be seen in the link above. This was the only time we’ve crafted this particular design for a customer. To complete the look, we added a simple line border around the design. The background was mostly obscured, with the clear glass detailing providing a good level of privacy, effectively concealing the contents of the laundry room behind the glass.

2 – Overlay Stained Glass to Gloucester

The image above showcases an excellent example of an Overlay Stained Glass panel, one of the most popular requests we receive from the Gloucester area. As with all of our glass, both single-glazed and double-glazed options are available, with toughened safety glass provided as standard for every order. Popular styles include selections from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery and the Frank Lloyd Wright gallery.

We also offer a variety of other patterns, such as Countryside Landscapes and traditional designs, available in our extensive Door Galleries. The Main Gallery is a great place to begin your search. If you can’t find a suitable design, feel free to send us your own! We create bespoke glass panels every day, and we can design glass inspired by your current glass or based on a photo or drawing you provide.

Patchwork Quilt Stained Glass Richmond Door – Churchdown

Back in 2013, a client with a Richmond Door asked us to create a bespoke pair of stained glass units. Richmond Doors feature a tilt at the top of the glass. We created drawings for approval, and you can see the proof in the main title link above. Once the glass was completed and sealed as double-glazed units, the project was delivered to their home in Churchdown, Gloucestershire.

Stained Glass Leaves – Gloucester

In 2018, a client from Gloucester contacted us to inquire if we could supply an obscure double-glazed unit with a simple leaded leaves design. The client had spotted an earlier project we had created and wanted something similar. We created the drawing and uploaded it to the page linked above. The glass was made using toughened Stippolyte Glass.

Rennie Mackintosh Door Glass – Upton St Leonards

In 2013, we received an order for our popular Blythswood Rose design for a pair of large glass panels. These oversized panels were to be installed into French doors. We created the glass using toughened Minster glass. The title link above will take you to the Client Page we created for the customer to view their project.

3 – Fused Glass to Gloucester

The photo above features one of our Fused Glass leaves, commonly used in our popular fused glass patterns. Our fused glass panels are created by etching the background and adding stunning fused glass tiles. These hand-made fused glass tiles are crafted in our UK studio, with many colors available upon request.

Popular fused glass collections include our Mackintosh Gallery and Tree Of Life Gallery. Each fused glass tile is hand-cut and placed in our kiln, where it is fused over 18 hours, creating unique and beautiful glass features. As with all our glass products, all fused glass panels are toughened and available as either single or double-glazed units. Fused glass tiles are among the most visually striking pieces we create, adding elegance and color to any space.

Fused Glass Autumn Leaves – Coleford

In late 2024, we received an order for five fanlights of varying sizes. The client had seen a previous project we completed for customers in Scarborough and requested the same leaf design. Since the fanlights were different lengths, we adjusted the number of leaves in each panel accordingly. The main title link above showcases the drawing we created for approval, along with a photo of an actual fused glass leaf to help the client visualize how the finished panels would look.

Blue Leaves Door – Whitminster

This is another fused glass project featuring leaves, but this time the client chose blue leaves. The client had a Malton Door that needed an update and fell in love with our Cecily Leaves design. We created a proof for approval, which you can view in the main link above. Once the glass was completed, we delivered the finished project to the client’s home in Whitminster, Gloucestershire.

Fused Glass Circles Abstract Door Glass – Stroud

The image above shows a door glass panel we created for clients in Stroud back in 2014. This design was unique at the time, and we hadn’t created a panel quite like it before. Since then, many clients have requested similar designs, often incorporating different coloured circles. The main title link above will take you to a page showcasing more photos and a full version of the door.

American Bevelled Glass

4 – Bevelled Glass to Gloucester

The image above showcases a Bevelled Glass window we created for clients in Chelsea. This design is part of our popular American Bevelled Glass range and is a stunning example of the beauty of bevels. With thousands of bevel designs to choose from, we can create toughened glass panels featuring exquisite bevelled patterns. We offer both single and double-glazed options, and as standard, we provide a drawing for client approval before manufacturing.

Bevelled Glass Arch – Gloucester

In 2011, a client from the Gloucester area requested a bespoke bevelled glass arched panel. They provided a sketch of their vision, and we agreed on a price based on the design. After reviewing hundreds of bevelled glass shapes and clusters, we crafted a similar design for the client. A proof was created, and the layout was approved. The final glass panel was made as a double-glazed unit using toughened safety glass. You can view the customer’s proof by following the main link above.

What We Do

At our decorative glass studio, we specialize in crafting bespoke decorative glass panels for both homes and businesses in Gloucester. We also supply our glass throughout the UK and occasionally receive orders from around the world. Most of our customers are homeowners looking to replace old or damaged glass. If your front door has plain or outdated glass, we can supply stunning new decorative glass to give it a fresh, elegant look.

We provide toughened safety glass as standard for all of our products, and you can choose from single, double-glazed, or even triple-glazed options if needed. We also offer laminated and fire-rated glass, though these types of glass may carry additional charges.
