Hatherop Castle School Glass Logo- Cirencester

Our studio was recently approached by the Hatherop Castle School in Cirencester, Gloucestershire to create a bespoke sandblasted school glass logo featuring a sketch of the school along with the school name. The glass panel measured 850mm x 1100mm and was created using 4mm toughened safety glass.

The school was unsure if they wanted clear glass for the background of the design with all of the detail in etched glass, or the other way around – the background etched and the detail in clear glass.

As we always do with bespoke orders, we offered to create 2 realistic computer generated images so the school could take a look at both options and decide the best option for them. You can see the clients personal page here with the 2 scale drawings. The school eventually opted for the sandblasted background as these pictures show.

As this glass was supplied single glazed, we protected the sandblasted areas with our Sandblast Protection product to help reduce staining of the etched areas.
