Fused Glass Bury St Edmunds
Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Fused Glass panels to homes and businesses across Bury St Edmunds ever since, delivering to every other part of the UK too. Where Bury St Edmunds’ period homes were traditionally fitted with etched or stained glass, Fused Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade in recent years, bringing a genuinely modern finish to doors and windows across the town.
Every Fused Glass design begins with an etched glass background, onto which small handmade fused tiles are kiln fired and incorporated into the panel, giving each piece a genuine sense of depth and texture on top of its colour. Panels are supplied as single or double-glazed glass, built to your own sizes for any door or window. The great majority of orders qualify for free delivery across Bury St Edmunds.

How Our Fused Glass Is Made
We build every Fused Glass panel the same way we build our etched work — sandblasting a sheet of toughened safety glass to lay down the background pattern first. From there, individually shaped pieces of coloured glass are cut and UV bonded directly onto that surface, one piece at a time, so the design genuinely builds up rather than sitting flat like a print.
The fused pieces stand roughly 6mm proud of the surface, giving genuine texture where the pattern needs it, while the rest of the panel stays flat and built on the same toughened glass base as everything else we make. There’s no re-leading or re-glazing to think about later, and a double-glazed version is available if you want extra insulation.
