Leaded Glass Roundels Porch – Bedford

Way back in 2012 we created an amazing set of glass panels for a client in Bedford. They had an old wooden porch with some unusual shaped glass. the client was renovating the old porch and they had removed the old wire glass. The client loved our Stained Glass Roundels and wanted a Victorian style design incorporating the roundels for all of the glazed areas. The link above shows you the drawing we supplied before manufacture.

Victorian Style Door Glass – Bedford

A Bedford client was renovating their front door back in 2009 but this wasn’t your average renovation. The client was actually removing a modern uPVC double glazed door and replacing it with an older style timber door. They wanted Victorian style overlay stained glass that could be made as double glazed units. We created these stunning panels and you can see the finished result in the link above.

How The Glass Is Made

Lead strips are meticulously worked by hand, delicately applied to a sheet of toughened safety glass, resulting in an uncolored outline of the pattern. Subsequently, the glass is flipped over. Complementary stained glass colors are precisely cut to shape and meticulously affixed to the glass surface. Upon achieving a fully colored design, identical lead strips are strategically applied to mirror the positions on the opposite side. This meticulous process culminates in a fully leaded and colored panel. Notably, the panels crafted through this technique, as depicted in the photos above and below, boast enhanced strength and longevity compared to the traditional method of stained glass.
