Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Fused Glass panels to homes and businesses across Woking ever since, delivering to every other part of the UK too. Where Woking’s period homes were traditionally fitted with etched or stained glass, Fused Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade in recent years, bringing a genuinely modern finish to doors and windows across the town.

Every Fused Glass design begins with an etched glass background, onto which small handmade fused tiles are kiln fired and incorporated into the panel, giving each piece a genuine sense of depth and texture on top of its colour. Panels are supplied as single or double-glazed glass, built to your own sizes for any door or window. The great majority of orders qualify for free delivery across Woking.

We’ve supplied glass for a Prime Minister’s home, for Hollywood film sets, and for well-known musicians and billionaires — though the vast majority of what we make is still for homeowners across Woking. We also produce other styles of Decorative Glass for Woking clients, including Stained Glass, Bevelled Glass, and Etched Glass.

Fused Glass has a lot going on in one panel — a sandblasted background, individual tiles, a colour palette — so we don’t leave any of it to guesswork. Every Woking order comes with its own Client Page, where within a few days we post a to-scale, computer-drawn version of your exact design. Want the tiles spaced further apart, or a warmer colour running through the pattern? Say so, and we’ll redraw it — as many times as it takes before anything reaches the kiln.

Fused Glass starts out the same way our etched panels do — a sheet of toughened safety glass, sandblasted to create the background pattern. From there, small pieces of coloured glass are individually cut and shaped, then UV bonded directly onto that surface, one piece at a time, until the design has built up in layers.

Sitting roughly 6mm proud of the surface, the fused tiles give real texture exactly where the design calls for it, while the surrounding glass stays flat and built on the same toughened base as everything else in our range. There’s no re-leading or re-glazing to worry about down the line, and a double-glazed version is available for extra insulation.
