Fused Glass Tonbridge
Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Fused Glass panels to homes and businesses across Tonbridge ever since, delivering to every other part of the UK too. Where Tonbridge’s older buildings, gathered close to the Castle, were traditionally fitted with etched or stained glass, Fused Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade for many homes across the town, bringing a genuinely modern texture to doors and windows.

Every Fused Glass design begins with an etched glass background, onto which small handmade fused tiles are kiln fired and incorporated into the panel, giving the finished piece real depth as well as colour. Panels are supplied as single or double-glazed glass, built to your own sizes for any door or window. The great majority of orders qualify for free delivery across Tonbridge.

We’ve supplied glass for a Prime Minister’s home, for Hollywood film sets, and for well-known musicians and billionaires — though the vast majority of what we make is still for homeowners across Tonbridge. We also produce other styles of Decorative Glass for Tonbridge clients, including Stained Glass, Bevelled Glass, and Etched Glass.

Our Free Client Pages Design Service
Fused Glass carries more decisions than most of our ranges — the background pattern, the tile shapes, the colourway — so every Tonbridge order gets its own Client Page before a single tile is fired. A computer-drawn proof, built to your exact glass, appears there within a few days of ordering. If a colour needs adjusting, or a tile resizing, tell us and we’ll amend it — as many rounds as it takes.

How Our Fused Glass Is Made
We build every Fused Glass panel on the same foundation as our etched work — a sheet of toughened safety glass, sandblasted first to lay down the background pattern. From there, individually shaped pieces of coloured glass are cut and UV bonded directly onto that surface, one piece at a time, so the design builds up in genuine relief rather than sitting flat like a printed film.

The fused pieces stand roughly 6mm proud of the surface, adding real texture where the pattern needs it, while the rest of the panel stays flat on the same toughened glass base we use throughout. There’s no re-leading or re-glazing to worry about further down the line, and a double-glazed version is available if you want extra insulation.
