Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Bevelled Glass panels to homes and businesses across Warrington ever since. We also deliver to every other part of the UK. While Warrington’s period properties — many built during the town’s years as a world centre for wire manufacturing — were originally fitted with etched or stained glass, Bevelled Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade over the years for homeowners across the town looking to bring a sharper, more reflective style of decorative glass to their doors and windows.

American Bevelled Glass

American Bevelled Glass remains a firm favourite among our customers, made from hundreds of small rectangular and square bevels arranged edge to edge to cover the whole panel. The style has a long tradition in American glasswork, and it’s a look you’ll likely recognise from film and television. Our rectangular pencil bevels are available in a wide range of widths and lengths, giving our glass artists real scope to design something distinctive for your Warrington home.

Each bevel is applied by hand and UV bonded onto a single sheet of toughened safety glass. Traditionally, lead alone held the small pieces together, with no supporting glass base beneath — a technique closer to a jigsaw than a solid panel.

Our modern technique overcomes the drawbacks of that older method. A single sheet of toughened glass closes off the gaps a lead-only “jigsaw” panel would leave for cold draughts, and it can also be supplied as a double-glazed unit for improved insulation. Certain bevel shapes and clusters come in bronze, blue, or green glass, with a Gluechip texture available on select pieces for extra character.
