RAF Wyton Decorative Glass Roof Light – Cambridge

stained_glass_raf_crest

This large decorative glass ceiling panel was created by Leadbitter Glass for RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire and it was installed into the Officers Mess dining room in around 1995. The coloured and leaded glass panel measures approx 1200mm wide x 1600mm high and was manufactured using single glazed toughened glass.

The lead used to create the design was Option 1 from our leaded glass page and a mixture of plain and marbled transparent overlay colours were used for the total coverage of the glass. The decorative glass ceiling lite isn’t an external window so there is a lack of natural daylight coming through the glass. At night time the ‘mess’ staff flick on a switch to illuminate the design with the lights that are installed behind the panel.

Leadbitter Glass can create and deliver any military crest for our armed forces anywhere in the country and as with all orders we can also provde a full colour ‘proof’ of the decorative glass panel before we start work on the actual glass. If your military base would like to receive a quote for a leaded glass military crest for use in ceiling lites, doors or even internal partitions, please use the contact link above to get in touch with us and we will produce an accurate quotation from any photo provided by you.
