Fused Glass Corby
Founded in 1994, the Leadbitter Glass Studio has been supplying Fused Glass panels to homes and businesses across Corby ever since, delivering to every other part of the UK too. Corby’s older buildings would traditionally have carried etched or stained glass, but Fused Glass has become a popular contemporary upgrade across the town — a newer arrival that, much like the people who reshaped Corby in the last century, has genuinely put down roots here rather than staying a passing trend.

Every Fused Glass design starts life as an etched glass background, onto which small, individually handmade tiles are kiln fired and worked into the panel — giving each piece genuine texture as well as colour, rather than a flat printed look. We supply panels as single or double glazing, built to your own sizes for any door or window. Most Corby orders qualify for free delivery.

We’ve made glass for a Prime Minister’s home, Hollywood film sets, and the residences of well-known musicians and billionaires — though homeowners across Corby remain the bulk of who we make it for. We also produce other styles of Decorative Glass for Corby clients, including Stained Glass, Bevelled Glass, and Etched Glass.

See your glass before we create it!

Our Free Client Pages Design Service
Fused Glass involves more decisions than most of our other ranges — the background pattern, the shape of each tile, the colourway — so every Corby order gets its own Client Page before a single tile ever sees the kiln. A computer-drawn proof, scaled to your exact glass, appears there within a few days of ordering, and if a colour or a tile size needs changing, just say so — we’ll amend it as many times as you need.

How Our Fused Glass Is Made
Every Fused Glass panel is built on the same foundation as our etched work — a sheet of toughened safety glass, sandblasted first to lay down the background. From there, individually shaped pieces of coloured glass are cut and UV bonded straight onto that surface, one piece at a time, so the two materials genuinely sit together as one finished piece rather than one simply resting on the other.

The fused pieces stand around 6mm proud of the surface, so you actually get texture where the pattern calls for it, while the rest of the panel sits flat on the same toughened glass base as everything else we build. There’s nothing to re-lead or re-glaze down the line, and a double-glazed version is available if you’d like the extra insulation.
