Mackintosh Stained Glass Kitchen Hatch – Southampton
This is our Renfrew Range design (design number 188) from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery, made as a wide, fanlight shaped overlay stained glass panel. The client used it to replace the glass in their kitchen serving hatch.
Before making it we created a proof for the client to check and approve. We adapted our 1930s version of the Renfrew design to their sizes and changed the blue to our standard orange colour theme. You can view their proof here.
It is made with our leaded glass lines on Stippolyte glass, in amber, red and yellow, with a clear bevelled glass circle in the centre and a clear bevelled tear drop at the left end. For privacy we added a textured pebble overlay behind the bevels to obscure them. The second photo shows it fitted in the kitchen.
