Leadbitter Glass supplies custom made toughened glass panels for windows and doors around the Preston area. Our hand made panels are fully customisable and can be ordered in almost any size. Our specialist decorative glass studio supplies homes all over Lancashire with beautiful made to measure art glass panels. Our glass can be supplied single or double glazed with designs of your choice.

What we do

We manufacture and deliver Etched Glass, Fused Glass, Bevelled Glass and Overlay Stained Glass panels to the Preston area. Toughened safety glass is used as standard on all of our commissions. We are probably the only fused glass manufacturer using toughened glass in the Preston area. Our fused glass panels are created with an etched glass background design with the addition of hand made fused glass tiles. The tiles are UV bonded to the toughened safety glass. This technique allows us to create regulation single or double glazed glass for doors and windows.

As with all orders placed with the Leadbitter Glass studio, a scale proof will be supplied for approval before we manufacture the glass. Our unique Client Pages Service explains everything you need to know about this great service. We never start work on any glass panel until you – the customer, has received and approved the scale drawing first. This is the only way to ensure you are 100% happy with your glass before we actually make it for you.

What is Fused Glass?

Fused glass is created by slowly heating and melting pieces of cut, coloured glass in a kiln until they slowly fuse together. The fusing process takes around 18 hours and the result is a beautiful fused glass tile. To fuse glass successfully it is essential that the individual pieces of glass are “tested compatible”. If they are not compatible, the glass can become brittle and is liable to crack over time. For this reason Leadbitter Glass only manufactures fused glass designs for all of our Preston jobs using Spectrum glass from America. We also use raw material glass from Italy in some of our Tree Of Life Range.

Fused Glass Tiles are very versatile, they can be integrated within most decorative glass patterns and applications. Our bespoke fused glass tiles have been supplied to many Preston projects and are very popular with Preston based architects and interior designers.
