Newcastle Fused Glass

Fused GlassFused Glass manufacturer supplying the Newcastle area

Historically fused glass has been very expensive due to manufacturing techniques but our range of fused glass tiles that we supply to the areas of Newcastle offers a luxury product, manufactured using traditional techniques for a fraction of the cost normally associated with this style of decorative art glass. The close up of this fused glass tile shows four different coloured pieces. The four sections were slowly fused together to make this colourful tile.

What is Fused Glass?

Fused glass is created by slowly heating the pieces of cut, coloured glass in a kiln until they fuse together, creating one piece of glass. To fuse glass successfully it is essential that the pieces of glass used are “tested compatible” for fusing otherwise the glass can become brittle and liable to break. For this reason Leadbitter Glass only manufactures Fused glass designs for Newcastle homes and commercial buildings throught Newcastle using Spectrum glass from America and Murano glass from Italy in our fused tile ranges.

Fused glass and Fused glass tiles are very versatile and they can be integrated within most decorative glass styles and applications. These fused glass tiles have been supplied to many Newcastle projects and are very popular with Newcastle based architects and interior designers. As with all products supplied to customers in Newcastle by Leadbitter Glass, we can also create Fused glass door, window and fanlight designs from your own specific ideas/drawings.
