A Presidential Order

When we received a presidential order, it wasn’t from the White House—but for a Hollywood movie set! Our team was recently commissioned to create a set of bespoke etched glass panels for the upcoming action-comedy Heads of State, starring Idris Elba and John Cena. This exciting project saw our glasswork take flight, quite literally, as we crafted panels for the president’s office aboard Air Force One.

For this blockbuster production, we produced eight custom panels, each featuring an intricately etched President’s Seal to adorn the office doors. These pieces needed to strike a balance between cinematic grandeur and practical design. Half of the order was made from 6mm toughened glass, delivering a sleek, durable finish that perfectly captured the prestige of the setting. The other half, however, was crafted from polycarbonate—a special request to ensure safety during the film’s high-energy stunt scenes. The President’s Seal design was so detailed that we found ourselves investing in a magnifying glass to enable us to work with the most intricate sections.

Why polycarbonate? In a fast-paced action-comedy like Heads of State, where stunts are part of the thrill, these lightweight, shatter-resistant panels were essential for keeping the cast and crew safe aboard the plane. It’s a perfect example of how we tailor our craftsmanship to meet the unique demands of each project—whether it’s for a luxury retailer or a Hollywood set.
