Gloucester Fused Glass
Historically fused glass has been very expensive due to manufacturing techniques but our range of fused glass tiles that we supply to the areas of Gloucester offers a luxury product, manufactured using traditional techniques for a fraction of the cost normally associated with this style of decorative art glass. The square Fused Glass tile design has been created using four separate pieces of coloured glass that have been slowly fused together.
What is Fused Glass?
Fused glass is created by slowly heating the pieces of cut, coloured glass in a kiln until they fuse together, creating one piece of glass. To fuse glass successfully it is essential that the pieces of glass used are “tested compatible” for fusing otherwise the glass can become brittle and liable to break. For this reason Leadbitter Glass only manufactures Fused glass designs for Gloucester homes and commercial buildings throughout Gloucester using Spectrum glass from America and Murano glass from Italy.
Fused glass and Fused glass tiles are very versatile and they can be integrated within most decorative glass styles and applications. These fused glass tiles have been supplied to many Gloucester projects and are very popular with Gloucester based architects and local interior designers. As with all products supplied to Gloucester by Leadbitter Glass, we can also create Fused glass door, window and fanlight designs from your own specific ideas/drawings.

Fused Glass Autumn Leaves – Coleford
In late 2024, we received an order for five fanlights of varying sizes. The client had seen a previous project we completed for customers in Scarborough and requested the same leaf design. Since the fanlights were different lengths, we adjusted the number of leaves in each panel accordingly. The main title link above showcases the drawing we created for approval, along with a photo of an actual fused glass leaf to help the client visualize how the finished panels would look.
Blue Leaves Door – Whitminster
This is another fused glass project featuring leaves, but this time the client chose blue leaves. The client had a Malton Door that needed an update and fell in love with our Cecily Leaves design. We created a proof for approval, which you can view in the main link above. Once the glass was completed, we delivered the finished project to the client’s home in Whitminster, Gloucestershire.

Fused Glass Circles Abstract Door Glass – Stroud
The image above shows a door glass panel we created for clients in Stroud back in 2014. This design was unique at the time, and we hadn’t created a panel quite like it before. Since then, many clients have requested similar designs, often incorporating different coloured circles. The main title link above will take you to a page showcasing more photos and a full version of the door.
