Decorative Glass in Colchester

Leadbitter Glass manufactures and delivers many different forms of decorative glass around the Colchester area. 4 Types Of Decorative Glass Available…

1 – Etched Glass to Colchester

Of the many types of glass decorative glass we supply, Etched Glass is one of the most popular requests we receive from the Colchester area. The image above shows what etched glass looks like and basically, it is an obscure background with a clear design. All designs are obviously available in the opposite style – clear background and etched design. We have hundreds of designs in our Etched Glass Gallery and popular styles are Traditional or our Shadows Of Nature.

Other popular etched glass galleries are our Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the House Names and Numbers gallery. We can also create bespoke etched glass panels based on your own photos or drawings. All glass is available single or double glazed. As with all decorative glass orders, a scale proof is created for client approval before the glass is started.

Etched Glass Lion For Pub Window – Colchester

A restaurant owner in Colchester contacted us recently to enquire about our etched glass. They forwarded an image file of a Lion and asked us to price up the glass. The design was extremely detailed and is one of the most detailed designs we’ve created. The link above will show you the proof we created before the actual glass was made. The design was etched onto 6mm toughened glass with polished edges. The panel was then installed in between booth seats inside of the pub/restaurant.

Deep Carved Laminated Glass – Colchester

Over 10 years ago we created the glass in the link above, for a client. 5 panels were created in total and they were installed into a door, and above the door. The glass was etched by repetitively sandblasting the design deep into the glass. As the pattern is blasted further into the glass it creates a 3D finish that gives an amazing finish. The glass was then sealed as double glazed units and delivered to the clients installer.

Traditional Door With Matching Side Panels

A client from Colchester had a door with a narrow panel in the door and 2 very narrow side panels. They liked our 1203 design but were concerned how the side panels may look. We gave the client a price and they ordered straight away. Once the order came through we created the drawing you can see in the link above. We couldn’t add too much detail to the narrow side panels but the client loved it.

2 – Overlay Stained Glass to Colchester

The above image shows a great example of an Overlay Stained Glass panel. This type of glass is also one of the most popular requests we receive from the Colchester area. As with all of our glass, single glazed and double glazed options are available. Toughened safety glass is supplied as standard for all orders. Popular styles requested are chosen from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery and the Frank Lloyd Wright gallery.

5 Panel Frank Lloyd Wright Door – Colchester

In late 2020 we were approached by a client that had a door with 5 glazed sections. They had spotted our Frank Lloyd Wright Illinois Range design but we did not have a version with their rare style of door. We gave them a quote to create a new design to suit their door. The main link above will show you how we redesigned the pattern to suit 3 small panels over 2 larger panels.

Arched FLW Door & Side Panel

Another client from Colchester also requested a Frank Lloyd Wright set of panels for their doorway. This time the doorway consisted of a 6 panel door with a 4 panel side light. Both areas were arched and the customer chose our Dana pattern. The top shapes were not an average arch as you can see by the images in the main link above. The customer also wanted their own colour theme so they requested which sections were coloured and which colours were to be used. We do not charge for colour changes on any panel.

Full Height Rennie Mackintosh Door – Colchester

In 2016 we were asked to price up our Paisley Rose design for a large panel. The client wanted this pattern as a full size panel and at that time, we didn’t have a drawing to show this specific pattern at those sizes. We gave the client a quote and they ordered a single glazed toughened glass panel. The link above takes you to the customers Client Page where you can see the proof we created.

3 – Fused Glass to Colchester

The photo above shows one of our Fused Glass leaves that is used in our popular fused glass patterns. Our fused glass panels are created by etching the background with the addition of stunning fused glass tiles. We create these hand-made fused glass tiles in our UK studio and many colours can be requested.

Popular fused glass galleries include our Mackintosh Gallery and our Tree Of Life Gallery. Our fused glass tiles are all hand cut and then they are placed in our kiln. 18 hours later they are fused and ready to be used to make our stunning glass panels. Fused Glass tiles are some of the most beautiful glass features we make. As standard, all glass is toughened and can be supplied single or double glazed.

4 – Bevelled Glass to Colchester

The image above is a Bevelled Glass window we created for clients in Chelsea. This design is part of our popular American Bevelled Glass range and the photo is stunning example of the beauty of bevels. There are thousands of bevels to choose from and we can create toughened glass panels with stunning bevelled patterns. Again, single or double glazed is available and as standard we produce a drawing for approval before manufacture.

When customers place an order with us, they get to preview their glass design before we make the actual glass. Our glass artists create high quality proofs to show you, the client exactly how your glass will look before manufacture. Once you get to see the drawings, you would have the opportunity to request alterations to the layout and colours. We only create the actual glass once the client has told us the design is absolutely perfect.

After creating the glass, we deliver it directly to your Colchester home or your chosen window or door supplier.
