Decorative Glass in Derby

Leadbitter Glass manufactures and delivers many different forms of decorative glass around the Derby area. We manufacture and deliver Etched Glass, Bevelled Glass, Overlay Stained Glass and Fused Glass panels. We specialise in manufacturing and delivering bespoke glass to residential customers but we have also supplied glass for use in blockbuster movies and some of the worlds largest corporations.

4 Types Of Decorative Glass Available…

1 – Etched Glass to Derby

Of the many types of glass decorative glass we supply, Etched Glass is one of the most popular requests we receive from the Derby area. The image above shows what etched glass looks like and basically, it is an obscure background with a clear design. All designs are obviously available in the opposite style – clear background and etched design. We have hundreds of designs in our Etched Glass Gallery and popular styles are Traditional or our Shadows Of Nature.

Other popular etched glass galleries are our Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the House Names and Numbers gallery. We can also create bespoke etched glass panels based on your own photos or drawings. All glass is available single or double glazed. As with all decorative glass orders, a scale proof is created for client approval before the glass is started.

Autumn Tree Etched Glass Door – Derby

In 2016 we received an order for our very popular Autumn Tree design from the Shadows Of Nature range. The main link above shows you an internal view and an external view of the glass once it was installed. The client kindly sent us these great photos as they overjoyed with the glass they received. This specific design is one of the most popular etched glass designs we receive orders for.

Etched Glass Lilies Doorway

In 2014 we were asked if we could create a set of door and side panels from a photo. The problem with this project is the photo was not complete so we had to guess what the rest of the design was supposed to look like. We created the drawings in the link above and the client approved the order. We created the glass and then delivered it to a farm house in Derbyshire.

Arch Window Decorative Border

In late 2012 we created an arched piece of toughened glass for clients in Derbyshire. The link above shows what we created. This was quite a basic order but it helped create a piece of interest in the home of our client. The clients liked our 1364 border but didn’t know how this would work as an arched panel. We kept the two bottom corner features in the design but curved the straight border around the glass edge to finish the design.

Tree Branches Etched Glass Windows – Buxton

In 2017 we received an order for our very popular Autumn tree designs. The link above shows you the client proof we created for approval before we made the actual glass. The client wanted the design reflecting so it looks like the trees are facing each other. The glass was supplied as 4mm toughened glass.

2 – Overlay Stained Glass to Derby

The above image shows a great example of an Overlay Stained Glass panel. This type of glass is also one of the most popular requests we receive from the Derby area. As with all of our glass, single glazed and double glazed options are available. Toughened safety glass is supplied as standard for all orders. Popular styles requested are chosen from our Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery and the Frank Lloyd Wright gallery.

There are many other patterns to choose from such as Countryside Landscapes and traditional designs from our extensive Door Galleries. The Main Gallery is the place to start and if you cannot find a suitable design, send us your own design. We create bespoke glass panels every day so we can also make glass inspired by your current glass or from a photo/drawing you have.

Coloured Georgian Rectangles Window – Mickleover

In 2021 we were asked to create some coloured Georgian rectangles for a client near Derby. The 4 pieces of glass were to be installed into a landing window. The glass was to be made as toughened double glazed units. The link above shows the Client Page Proof that our studio artists created for approval. This design service is given free to all clients that order glass with us.

3 – Fused Glass to Derby

The photo above shows one of our Fused Glass leaves that is used in our popular fused glass patterns. Our fused glass panels are created by etching the background with the addition of stunning fused glass tiles. We create these hand-made fused glass tiles in our UK studio and many colours can be requested.

Popular fused glass galleries include our Mackintosh Gallery and our Tree Of Life Gallery. Our fused glass tiles are all hand cut and then they are placed in our kiln. 18 hours later they are fused and ready to be used to make our stunning glass panels. Fused Glass tiles are some of the most beautiful glass features we make. As standard, all glass is toughened and can be supplied single or double glazed.

Circular Fused Glass Tree Of Life – Derby

A few years back we had a Derby client approach us for a unique design to be created for them. They loved our Fused Glass Tree Of Life but wanted a round porthole version. The main title link above shows the drawing we created for the client to approve or request changes. The client did approve the drawing and we created the single glazed panel within a few weeks. The small round tiles were hand cut and fused in our studio kiln.

4 – Bevelled Glass to Derby

The image above is a Bevelled Glass window we created for clients in Chelsea. This design is part of our popular American Bevelled Glass range and the photo is stunning example of the beauty of bevels. There are thousands of bevels to choose from and we can create toughened glass panels with stunning bevelled patterns. Again, single or double glazed is available and as standard we produce a drawing for approval before manufacture.

What we do

Our decorative glass studio specialises in creating bespoke decorative glass panels for homes and businesses in Derby. We also supply our glass anywhere in the UK and we sometimes receive orders from around the world. Most of the orders we receive are from homeowners looking to replace their old or damaged glass. If you have plain or boring glass in your front door we can supply stunning new decorative glass to give your door a whole new lease of life.

We supply toughened safety glass as standard for all our products. You can choose single or double-glazed options or even triple glazed glass if it is required. We can provide laminated or Fire rated glass but these types of glass carry extra charges on top of a standard quotation.

Our service

When customers place an order with us, they get to preview their glass design before we make the actual glass. Our glass artists create high quality proofs to show you, the client exactly how your glass will look before manufacture. Once you get to see the drawings, you would have the opportunity to request alterations to the layout and colours. We only create the actual glass once the client has told us the design is absolutely perfect.

After creating the glass, we deliver it directly to your Derby home or your chosen window or door supplier.
