Leadbitter Glass supplies bespoke decorative glass panels to homes and businesses to the UK and around the world. We can manufacture almost any glass design in your specific glass sizes. Etched Glass, Bevelled Glass, Leaded Glass and Fused Glass are all created in our dedicated studio. The vast majority of the decorative glass we create is made by hand by our skilled team of glass artists.

Our glass design gallery is probably the largest decorative glass gallery on the internet. We have well over 1000 designs featured and new images are added on a regular basis. We also manufacture many bespoke designs not featured in our vast galleries. If you are looking for beautiful glass for your door we have hundreds of designs in modern and traditional styles.

One of the great features of the door galleries is our coloured doors feature. You get to see glass designs in the door colour of your choice so you get a more realistic view of how the glass may look in your specific door. We also have hundreds of designs for feature windows, fanlights above doors or anywhere you require decorative glass. Our ‘Client Pages’ section display some recent orders from clients so you can see what other people are ordering.

Paddington Bear – A Repeat Customer

The Leadbitter Glass Studio received another order from London’s famous bear – Paddington. After the success of the first Paddington movie (which we feel was partly down to the beautiful glass we created for Paddington’s front door) Leadbitter Glass then created Overlay Stained Glass Windows for Paddington 2 which hit cinemas in 2017.

The original blockbuster ‘Paddington’ hit UK cinemas in 2014. The Leadbitter Glass studio created the Overlay Stained Glass fanlight above the front door of 32 Windsor Gardens. This is the family home of the Brown’s where Paddington lives.

We also created matching glass for the ‘nasty neighbour’ Mr Curry at number 34. Below is one of the glass panels we created for the movie, you can see the full article about the original glass we created here. Paddington 3 is currently ‘in the works’.

Leadbitter Glass Mackintosh Galleries

Charles Rennie Mackintosh designs have always been very popular in the decorative glass world. As a specialist studio, we receive dozens of requests a year for Mackintosh style glass panels. On show in our dedicated Mackintosh Gallery is our interpretation of the famous ‘Willow Tea Rooms’ door. This design is a very famous piece by Mackintosh and it was created over 100 years ago.

The gallery also contains many Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired designs for windows and doors. We also get a lot of requests from customers requiring bespoke Mackintosh glass. We have created designs based on Mackintosh jewellery and even a kitchen wall tile.

Etched Glass

Sandblasted Glass or Etched Glass as it’s also known is one of the most popular forms of  glass we manufacture. Etched Glass is the ideal form of decorative glass for traditional style doors. ‘Fanlights above doors’ are also an ideal area for Etched Glass, featuring house names or numbers. Modern abstract designs are also a popular choice with customers requiring Etched Glass. When etching onto Satin Glass, the result gives a high privacy decorative panel ideal for bathrooms and toilets.

Overlay Stained Glass

Leaded and Coloured or Overlay Stained Glass as it is also known is another very popular request. This technique is not just an old fashioned style of decorative glass. It can also be used to create stunning contemporary glass for doors and windows.

By combining different colours, textures and roundels, we can create stunning overlay Stained Glass Windows that look amazing in your home. Overlay Stained Glass has many advantages over the ‘jigsaw’ method. Creating the glass as a double glazed unit conserves heat in your home. Creating Overlay Stained Glass using toughened glass adds an extra level of safety to your home. We have more than 5 different types of lead finishes available including soldered lead to enable the panel to look old and traditional and our most popular lead – antique lead.

Bevelled Glass

Bevelled Glass designs can truly lift the whole look of a room or door entryway. The way the light bounces off the angled bevels of glass gives a truly beautiful effect. The beauty of Bevelled Glass can only really be appreciated when you come face to face with a bevelled panel.

We have hundreds of bevelled glass clusters to choose from in our galleries. By using single bevelled pieces, the range of design possibilities available is limitless. Bevels can be used along with colours, textures and different lead strips to create unique focal points for your home. American Bevelled Glass is one of the most popular requests we receive. These designs are usually made with square and rectangle bevelled glass pieces. Combining hundreds of these creates a stunning design that looks amazing and allows light to flood in.

Fused Glass

Fused Glass is a true work of art captured in glass. The different coloured areas of the glass are slowly melted together to create a beautiful effect that looks stunning. Our fused glass tile gallery contains many different tiles and these can be used to create amazing and unique door and window glass panels.

One of the most popular fused glass requests we receive is for our ‘Fused Glass Tree Of Life’ design. The background pattern is created by sandblasting the glass and then small round fused glass tiles are UV bonded to the glass. Charles Rennie Mackintosh designs are also very popular for Fused Glass orders. Francis Leadbitter has designed many Fused Mackintosh Rose & Leaves patterns and you can view the gallery here.
