Ocean scene bathroom window – Luton

This beautiful Overlay Stained Glass Window was created for a client in Luton in 2010 and the new bathroom window fills the whole bathroom with amazing colour during the day. The bathroom has mirrors on either side of the window so this gives a great feeling of being surrounded on all sides by the tropical fish.

The client asked us to manufacture a feature window that had an ocean theme with Angel fish and as we had created similar windows in the past, we had plenty of ideas and images to work from. We emailed 3 different tropical fish window designs to the client to view and they set about planning the window themselves. Fish were taken from one design with the sun and clouds taken from another design and once the colours were chosen and the layout agreed, we provided the client with a full scale proof before manufacture.

You may notice from the ‘proof’ and the image below that the client decided to swap the location of the 2 larger panels during installation. This was fine as both bottom panels were exactly the same size. The sealed units were backed up using Stippolyte glass to obtain ultimate privacy for the bathroom window. The window was created using natural lead which was then aged afterwards and all of the colours were selected individually by the client from our range of overlay stained glass colours.
